Lehighton has been my home for 64 years. I was born and raised here, built my career here, and raised my family here. This community is more than just a place to live; it’s a close-knit town where great people come together to support one another, especially in times of need. I have always believed that a community raises a child, and I know there is no better place than Lehighton to do just that.

My early life and career mentors from Lehighton were integral to shaping my passion for education, community, and family. My uncle, Mr. Ebbert, was deeply respected by many, but most of all—by me. I was also fortunate to learn from Mr. Wentz, Mr. Koons, Mr. Alger, Mr. Parsons, Mr. Poe, Mr. Van Norman, and Mr. Smith, each of whom instilled values and principles that still guide me today.

I have dedicated 39 years to education. I spent 15 years in the classroom teaching business, accounting, computers, and law in the Stroudsburg Area and at Bethlehem Catholic. I spent the next 24 years serving Lehighton Area School District in roles that shaped the foundation of our schools. I worked as an assistant principal and principal at the Lehighton Middle school and as principal at the Lehighton High School. I transitioned to director of curriculum and instruction, and later as assistant to the superintendent. I am also a self-employed income tax preparer and have owned and operated my business for 35 years. My experience has given me a deep understanding of our district, its strengths, and the challenges we must address to move forward.

My educational background has been fundamental to my work in education and leadership. I earned a bachelor’s degree in education, Business, and Accounting from Bloomsburg University in 1982. I then pursued advanced studies, earning a Master’s Equivalency through East Stroudsburg University and Penn State. To further my leadership expertise, I obtained a Principal Certification through Penn State and later attended the Superintendent’s Program at Marywood University.

These experiences have provided me with the knowledge and perspective necessary to make informed decisions that benefit students, educators, and the broader Lehighton community.

I am deeply proud of my family-centered values. My wife, Jane, and I have been married for 37 years, and together we have four sons who all graduated from Lehighton. We also have several grandchildren in the district, making our commitment to strong schools and a strong community even more personal.

Beyond education, I have been involved in the community as a football coach, baseball coach, and band booster president. I have served on the Carbon Monroe Pike Drug and Alcohol Board and currently serve as treasurer of the Lehighton Water Authority, president of the Lehighton Education & Athletic Foundation (LEAF), and a lector at St. Peter and Paul Church.

“I am running for Lehighton Area School Board because I want to restore stability and credibility to our district. Lehighton was once known as a strong, respected school district - “a little Parkland”- and we need to return to the leadership and educational excellence that once defined us. Poor decision-making has led to perceptions and headlines that don’t reflect who we really are as a community. With common sense, fiscal responsibility, and decades of experience in education, I will prioritize what matters most—supporting students, teachers, and families while making smart financial decisions that benefit everyone.”

I love working with kids, educators, and staff to create an environment where students can succeed and our community can be proud. Now is the time to refocus on education, responsible leadership, and a strong future for Lehighton. I ask for your support as we work together to bring our schools back to stability, strength, and success.
