Lehighton has always been my home. I grew up here, raised my family here, and built my career here. I graduated from Lehighton Area High School in 1978, following in the footsteps of my grandparents, parents, siblings, and later, my own children. Today, I am proud to have three grandchildren attending Lehighton schools, continuing our family’s deep connection to the district.
After more than 30 years of service to the district, my retirement will take effect on May 2, 2025. However, my commitment to Lehighton’s students, families, and schools does not end there. I am eager to continue serving this community as a School Board Director and to use my experience, knowledge, and passion to help shape the future of our schools.
I dedicated over 30 years to the Lehighton Area School District, beginning as a substitute support secretary in 1993 before being hired full-time in 1997 as the Middle School Guidance Secretary. For the last 18 years, I worked in the district’s Administration Office, where I implemented and managed PowerSchool, oversaw PIMS reporting, and became a specialist in PIMS administration and Child Accounting. I also supported secretaries, administrators, and teachers with PowerSchool and PowerTeacher, ensuring they had the resources needed to serve our students effectively.
Through my years working in the district, I gained in-depth knowledge of Pennsylvania’s Basic Educational Circulars, school policies, and district procedures. More importantly, I built strong relationships with teachers, staff, and administrators, understanding firsthand the challenges they face and the support they need to succeed.
“I am running for Lehighton Area School Board because I want to help restore the strength and reputation of our district. When I started working for Lehighton in 1993, we were a district people were proud to be a part of - one where families wanted to send their children and educators wanted to work. I want to bring that excellence and sense of community back by ensuring that we prioritize students, support teachers, and make responsible financial decisions that benefit everyone.”
I look forward to working together to ensure credibility, accountability, and a student-first approach in every decision we make.
